Where You Will Live
In 2011 and 2012, we built brand new cabins for our interns to replace the old white farmhouse we had in years past. The new cabins are located right by our high tunnels and greenhouse next to a beautiful wooded area.
We have seven cabins, each equipped with a bunkbed, a kitchenette, and a half bathroom. The cabins are designed to accomdate two interns at a time. The kitchenettes have a hot plate, toaster oven, and mini-fridge/freezer. We provide basic cooking equipment, such as pots and pans, silverware, and plates.
All the interns share a common laundry and shower house. There are two brand new washers and one dryer in there, along with a large refridgerator and freezer to hold water and other shared food. There are separate shower areas for men and women. Women have one shower, and men have two showers, as we usually have more male interns than female interns. Each shower area has a private changing room behind a full-sized door for privacy.
Below are some pictures of the intern cabins. Our 2012 interns are making improvements all the time, like adding gardens, a soccer field, and a fire pit, to make it feel more like home.
